Product price intelligence

Know where your prices stand in every competitor's shop

Import the product feed you already publish for Google Shopping. Orlea finds the same products in your competitors' shops, reads their prices and stock every day, and shows where you stand, product by product and category by category.

How it works

Three steps, then it runs itself.

  1. 01

    Import your product feed

The feed you publish for Google Merchant Center, by its address (read daily) or as a CSV. Every row that can't be used is named, with why.

  2. 02

    Match the same products

Competitors' product pages are found in their sitemaps. The same GTIN, or brand and part number, is a certain match; a similar name waits for you to confirm.

  3. 03

    Compare, every day

Prices, sale prices and stock are read daily. Undercuts, moves of 5% or more, promotions and stock-outs arrive as one change per competitor per day.

Product tour

See a competitor undercut you on 12 products.

Step through one competitor's day of price moves: the products it went below your price on, the prices before and after, when each page was read, and what it means for your range.

Take the tour

Where you stand

By category, and product by product.

The price index tells you whether you are dear or cheap for a typical product, overall and per category. Open a product to see every competitor's price beside yours over 90 days, and each move that made it.

Which shops work

It reads what shops publish for search engines.

Most shop platforms put a product's price, stock and identifiers in the page for Google. Where they don't, the shop's state under Catalog and shops says so, rather than showing a price it guessed.

Read

  • Structured data on product pages

schema.org Product and Offer, as JSON-LD or microdata, or else Open Graph product tags: price, list price, currency, stock, GTIN and part number.

  • Product pages from sitemaps

Found in each shop's sitemaps and ranked against your catalog, or added by hand where a shop has none.

  • Public pages, politely

Matched pages once a day, the rest weekly, with a pause between requests. robots.txt is respected.

Not read

  • Prices drawn by JavaScript alone

A page with no structured data in its HTML has nothing to read: its state says so.

  • Anything behind a login

Member prices that need an account, and pages robots.txt closes.

  • Prices that can't be compared

Another currency, a “from” price or a price excluding VAT is listed with why, never converted or counted.

  • Marketplaces and extras

Amazon, Google Shopping, shipping costs, unit prices and repricing are not part of it.

In detail

What you get.

  • Your position, product by product

Your price against each competitor selling the same product: cheapest, level, in between or most expensive, and the gap to the cheapest.

  • A price index per category

Your price ÷ the market median for a typical product, overall and per category, worked out daily and charted over 90 days.

  • Certain, or labelled

A match by GTIN or part number counts at once. A match by name is labelled likely and counts only once someone on your team confirms it.

  • Moves, not noise

One change per competitor per day, with the products, the prices before and after and when each page was read. AI only reads the day's moves as a whole.

Channels

Where you'll see it.

Everyone gets email: high priority right away, the rest in a daily or weekly digest. On Pro, Team and Enterprise, changes above the priority you choose are also posted to your team's Slack or Microsoft Teams channels.

FAQ

Questions, answered

How are products matched?

The same GTIN/EAN, or the same brand and part number, is a certain match and counts straight away. Otherwise the brand and the product name are compared: a close name is a likely match, shown with why (“Same brand, names 88% alike”) and kept out of positions, the index and alerts until someone confirms it. Different sizes or models always wait for a person, and a rejected pair is never proposed again.

Where do competitors' prices come from?

From the structured data shops publish on their product pages for search engines: schema.org Product and Offer (as JSON-LD or microdata), or else Open Graph product tags. That gives the price, the struck-through list price, the currency, stock and identifiers such as the GTIN. No AI reads the pages, and nothing is guessed from the page's layout.

Which shops work?

Shops whose product pages carry that structured data, which most shop platforms add for Google. Product pages are found in the shop's sitemaps and ranked against your catalog; where a shop has no product sitemap, you can add its product pages by hand. Each shop's state shows under Catalog and shops, so you see what was found and what failed.

What doesn't work?

Prices that only appear once JavaScript runs, with no structured data in the page; pages behind a login; and pages a shop's robots.txt closes. Prices in another currency, “from” prices and prices excluding VAT are listed but not compared, never converted. Marketplaces such as Amazon or Google Shopping, shipping costs, unit prices and repricing are not part of it.

Is it legal to read competitors' prices?

Orlea reads public product pages only, what any visitor sees, about once a day per page with a pause between requests. It respects robots.txt, never logs in and collects no personal data: the same rules as every page OrleaBot reads. How you use the prices in your own pricing is your decision.

How many products can I compare?

250 products in 3 competitors' shops on Pro, 500 products in 10 competitors' shops on Team and 5,000 products in 25 competitors' shops on Enterprise; the free trial compares 100 products in 3 competitors' shops. Starter doesn't include product prices. When a feed holds more products than the plan, the ones imported first are kept and the rest are counted as over the plan.
